Police investigate teenager who exposed himself to a woman in Coatbridge

A MANHUNT has been launched for a teen pervert who flashed at a woman in broad daylight in Coatbridge.

Cops have released a description of the sicko who struck on Tuesday at around 12.45 pm

They revealed that the victim, 24, was walking along a canal path between Carnbroe and Calderbank when she saw a male youth exposing himself.

He is described as white, aged in his mid-teens, with blonde hair. He was wearing a red hooded top and blue jogging trousers.

The woman ran off and sought help from a cyclist. She has been left badly shaken by the incident.

Detective Sergeant Graeme Lawrence is appealing for information, he said: “This area is popular with local people and is often used by walkers and cyclists.

“I am asking people who were in the area around the time of the incident to think back and consider if they saw this youth.

“Perhaps you saw him and thought nothing of it, but in light of this crime, what you saw could assist our enquiries in identifying and tracing him, so please do get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1663 of 7 July, 2020. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can maintain your anonymity.
